Install an electrical outlet

Install an electrical outlet is part of the ABC of DIY. This step allows you to successfully connect to an electrical outlet, flush or apparent in housing new or old.

Disconnect the circuit breaker

Disconnect electric power to the room where you will be working before the installation of an electrical outlet.Remove the fuse or circuit breaker push down the levers involved. Turn off power at main switch if you have not found the right fuse. Check with your tester that electricity is disconnected before installing an electrical outlet.

Tighten the terminals

Unscrew the fasteners son of the new socket. Reproduce exactly the old connection socket you wrote:
- Ensure the connections;
- Tighten the screw terminals. 

Follow the timeline provided by the manufacturer if you prefer. Install the plug in the wall: *
- Secure the base of the socket, now wired to the housing; 
- Install the front of your intake.

Installing electrical outlet apparent: prepare support

Installing an electrical outlet is different in older homes. Catches are often visible or wall mounted. Dismantle and remove the plug from the wall is the only solution. Fill holes with plaster, the wall is in poor condition. Equalize the surface before installing an electrical outlet. Wait until the plaster is completely dry: a few tens of minutes depending on the amount raised. Use sandpaper to smooth the wall.
