Arrangement of a studio

The difficulty of the layout of a studio based primarily on a combination of several utilities in a small space. It is indeed like a classic apartment (cooking, eating, sleeping, relaxing, etc..), With the difference that everything happens in one room.

So how do we ensure that each activity has its place? By following our step by step, and you'll see that it is not so difficult to arrange a studio and practice adapted to its lifestyle.

Before you begin the planning , project yourself into your studio and determine your needs by listing.

Ask yourself for example the right questions about your current lifestyle and also anticipate the future:

- What activities do you: sleeping, eating, cooking, reading, watching TV, etc.. ;
- What would you do more: having friends, etc.. ;
- What can not you to do: sports;
- What could you do elsewhere: sports exercises.

You should get a list of all the elements you need in your studio.

NB : stay realistic, however. For example it is unnecessary to provide tennis tournaments in your studio of 15m ²: you probably will not have room.

Now that you have a complete list of everything you want to do in your studio, draw a brief outline of your studio . Then mark the locations of various tasks on it.

Start by placing the tasks that you can not move. This is for example the case of the corner office that should ideally be located near a window.

Then have activities that require the same objects. Tasks "cook", "meal preparation", "washing dishes" using the same utensils. They must be combined to create a zone and "kitchen".

Starting from less flexible than free , the allocation of places will be combined more easily, and you should be able to put all your tasks. The hard part is done, you now have the business plan of your studio.

We now determine what furniture will be necessary for the activities specified on the plan. For this, note firstly the furniture needed for each task.

For the previous example, in the "cooking" should be: a plan of work, storage for utensils and crockery, cupboards for food, etc..

The basic principle is to minimize the objects that serve only one task. Thus, by limiting the number of items, your studio will be more convenient and seem larger. You need a bed for sleeping and a sofa for entertaining or watching TV? You could combine all this with a sofa bed.

Nowadays, the multifunctional objects have become commonplace , both in terms of furniture that appliances. It is now easy to find an oven both microwave and grill. Like a coffee table lift that can act as a dining table.

Note : do not forget to adjust the dimensions of the furniture in your space. Nothing is to find the ideal piece of furniture if it can be placed at the location where you have to do the tasks!

Depending on the size of your studio, you may be able to separate some areas that do not overlap. In this case, do not hesitate to use dividers to isolate the most intimate places (like the room) or less aesthetic (like cooking). For this, there are many solutions: curtains, screens, plants, shelves, etc.. Prefer shelves which have the advantage of serving as storage.
