Disassemble the old lock
Remove door and place it on sawhorses. To remove an integral lock cylinder, remove the screw holding the barrel and then pull it from its housing by using the key for the shoot. Also unscrew the two points of attachment of the lock and then remove it.The multipoint lock comes ready to go with strikes, linkage and an installation template. Using the template, mark the point on the door of the new cylinder bore and the attachment points of the new lock. The axis of the square of the handles must be placed at 1.05 m above the ground . Replace cap screw holes and cannon of the old lock with a paste wood bi-component is preferred.
Fix the central locking
Drill the hole in the barrel with a hole saw or spade bit of the desired diameter.Introduce the new lock on the door and draw in pencil the outline of its faceplate. Notch itself in its housing chisel 3 mm deep, then drill the 4 holes of the block lock.Place the lock blank (without screw) and the rods and bolts. Align the ends of bolts from the door edge and finally secure the lock.
Ask the linkage
Position the top striker in aligning its end on the top of the door. Adjust the length of the rod high and low, taking into account part ( 14mm max ) that engage in the capitals in the closed position.Cut the rods to length with a hacksaw. If they are of telescopic type, let them slide until the desired length. Finally fix their guides and make sure the lock works well.
Fix the keepers
Replace the door on its hinges in order to identify the location of the bolts at ground level and the door frame. After closing the lock, the lock present on the lower ground and adjust its position.Door open, locate the 4 holes in the ground strike and punch them. Push pins adapted and screw up the spoils.
It remains to install the two keepers in between. Hack their sites, as before, by aligning the face plate you can fix them.
