How about a heat pump?

The heat pump is an environmentally friendly heating system. The energy is renewable and free because it uses the sun's heat stored in nature. It is a good way to reconcile economy and ecology.

The general operation

The heat pump consists of a compressor, a pressure regulator and 2 interchanges.

The compressor draws the refrigerant gas flowing through the pump. It compresses it, raising its temperature and pressure.

This hot gas then goes to the heat exchanger where it is contacted with the gas to heat (the room air for example). He sends some of its heat and then condenses and becomes liquid.

The liquid refrigerant then passes through a regulator, which reduces its pressure and temperature.

The liquid is directed to another heat exchanger, where it comes into contact with an external element (air, land or water). This liquid refrigerant is in charge of the captured heat to the outside, and returns to a boil, turning into gas.

The cycle begins again, and the refrigerant gas returns to the compressor.

The different types of pumps

- The heat pump air-air : the heat pump captures heat from the air outside;

- The heat pumps water-water : one or more holes allow the heat pump to gain access to groundwater or streams. It can then capture the heat in the water;

- The geothermal heat pumps using heat from the ground : a fluid flows through tubes buried in the ground to collect heat.

Price

There are heat pumps prices varied depending on the selected pump, the brand and power.Your choice depends mainly on the surface to heat and climate of your region.

On average, prices range from € 5,000 (for a heat pump air-air) to 20 000 € (for some heat pumps water-water). We must also take into account the price of heat emitters and any accessories.

The benefits of heat pumps

The heat pump avoids the use of fossil fuels (oil) in favor of renewable energy.

By investing in a heat pump, you get immune to fluctuating prices of fossil fuels.

The heat pump can also prevent the release of greenhouse gas emissions. The heat pump runs on electricity, but consumes more than 2 times less than electric heating.
